Abingdon Green Gym - who we are
Hello and welcome to the website of Abingdon Green Gym. We are a volunteer conservation group affiliated with, but run independently of TCV, with work sites in and around Abingdon, Oxfordshire. We undertake a wide variety of tasks including clearing overgrown vegetation, coppicing, reed cutting and building and maintaining paths to name but a few. The aim is to improve the local environment, keep fit and have fun.
Abingdon Green Gym have events planned for most Saturday mornings throughout the year. These generally run from 9:30am until 12:30pm, with a mid-morning break for refreshments. The sessions are free and open to all. No previous experience in conservation work is necessary and new volunteers are very welcome. There are a range of tasks available to suit all abilities and lifts can usually be organised to get to the worksites if required. We simply request that you advise us at least two days in advance of an event if you plan to participate. We look forward to meeting you!
Our planned future events can be seen in the Programme section of this website, and our latest news is featured in our blog.
You can also find us on Facebook as Abingdon Green Gym, Twitter @Abingdon_gg, and Instagram at AbingdonGreenGym.
