
Kennington Memorial Field is 12 1/2 acre site established as an area of peace and natural beauty to honour the six residents of Kennington who died while serving in the Second World War. It is situated on the outskirts of Oxford, to the North-East of Abingdon. The area is managed by the Oxford Preservation Trust, and is let for grazing. The site includes areas of woodland and a stream and is home to a diverse range of wildlife.
Abingdon Green Gym assist with the general maintenance tasks on this site including cutting back and stacking scrub, working under the direction of the Oxford Preservation Trust.
The meeting point for the Kennington Memorial Field work site is beside the pavillion for the sports field at the end of Playfield Road, Kennington.
